We typically hunt Blesbok Safari Style, Spot and Stalk, or by Still Hunting if you are a Bow Hunter. We can accommodate all methods of Hunting for Blesbok including Rifle, Bow, Black Powder, Crossbow or Handgun. We can accomodate hunters of any age and experience level.

We also offer hunts for both White Blesbok and Yellow Blesbok if you're interested in chasing the Blesbok Slam.

The Blesbok which we hunt on our South Africa Concession are the biggest in the World. You can expect a 16+ inch Blesbok on average when hunting with us, with some each year exceeding 17-19 inches.

We also give our clients a unique opportunity to participate in a Blesbok Cull Hunt. This hunt takes 1-2 days of your African Safari, where you must shoot a minimum of 10 Blesbok as a group. All will have horns averaging 14-15". You may shoot up to 50 Blesbok on this hunt if you like.

The blesbok (Damaliscus pygargus phillipsi) is a species of antelope native to South Africa.

What do Blesbok look like:

Blesbok have a light-brown to reddish coat, and a prominent white face and white blaze on the forehead. The male has a pair of S-shaped horns that are 14-20 inches long, while the females horns are shorter and thinner.

Blesbok Habitat:

Blesboks preferred habitat is open grasslands or plains with plenty water. They spend the wet season in medium-tight grasses, and the dry season in the poor-quality grasses.

Blesbok Behavior:

Like wildebeest, blesboks social structure consists of territorial males, female herds, and bachelor groups. They are active during the day, but they do become less active during the hotter parts of the day. During the heat of the day, the herds will orientate themselves towards the sun with their heads bowed. They generally migrate wherever grass is available.

Blesbok Reproduction:

The blesbok breeding season occurs from March to May, where females give birth to a single calf after a gestation period of about 8 months.
