Africa Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest Monster South African Civet Cat any date of the year. The Limpopo Province of South Africa is the premier destination in the World to hunt the Civet Cat. Year round, we offer hunts for awesome Trophy Civet Cat.

This will be a night hunt!  Our hunters typically hunt the South African Civet Cat in conjunction 7 to 10 day African Safari. One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your Civet Cat Hunt, and you will hunt spot and stalk tactics along with safari style with a spot or flashlight. We hunt Civet Cat with small caliber rifle only for the best success.

Civet Cat Permits are limited now, so we will be limited on import permits.  Keep in mind that we will need to apply 15 days in advance for this Civet Cat permit.  If you are unsuccessful in harvesting your Civet Cat, you will only pay a small permit fee, not the trophy fee.

The Civet Cat's ability to produce a musk-like substance called civet has been historically used in the production of perfumes. There are various species of civets, and they are found in Africa and parts of Asia.

What do Civet Cats look like:

Civets typically have a slender body, a thickly furred tail, small ears, and a pointed snout. They can vary in size, but most of them are similar to the size of a domestic cat. Their coloration varies widely among the species, but they are commonly grayish with black stripes, spots, or both.

Habitat of Civet Cat:

Civets inhabit a range of environments, including forests, grasslands, and scrubs areas. They can also be found living in mangroves and even roof spaces of building in urban areas. They are nocturnal creatures and like to stay in trees and high places.

Behavior of Civet Cats:

Civet cats are very solitary animals, except when breeding. We don’t know much of their lifestyle because they are nocturnal and have a very secretive lifestyle. Civets give birth to usually a litter of two to four young, and they may have two litters a year. The gestation period lasts about 2 months.

Civet Cat Diet:

Civets are omnivores with a varied diet of fruits, insects, small mammals, and sometimes birds. Some species of civets are known to eat plant matter and carrion.
