Africa Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest Trophy Nyala Bulls in South Africa. The Limpopo Province of South Africa is the premier destination in the World to hunt Trophy Nyala. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Nyala in South Africa, which makes it a suitable trophy year round.

Our hunters typically hunt the South African Nyala in conjunction with a 7-10 day African Safari. One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your Nyala Hunt. We typically hunt Nyala Safari Style, Spot and Stalk, or by Still Hunting if you are a Bow Hunter. We can accommodate all methods of Hunting for Nyala including Rifle, Bow, Black Powder, Crossbow or Handgun. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level.

The Nyala which we hunt on our South Africa Concession are the biggest in the World. You can expect a 25-30 inch Nyala on average when hunting with us, with some each year exceeding 30 inches.  Just in 2024, we've Bow Hunted some great Nyala Bulls in the 29-31" Range.

The Nyala Antelope we hunt are typically found in the bushveld...they move quietly and slowly through the trees, giving hunters a good opportunity to stalk close for a good shot with bow or rifle.

The Nyala (Tragelaphus angasii) is a species of antelope native to southern Africa.

What do Nyala look like:

Nyala Males are larger and more robust, with a dark brown or grayish coat adorned with white stripes and spots. They also have long, spiral-shaped horns that can reach lengths of up to 31 inches. Females are smaller and have a reddish-brown color with less markings and no horns.

Nyala Habitat:

Nyala prefer dense bushveld and woodland habitats near water sources such as rivers or marshes. They are particularly associated with thickets and dense vegetation, where they can find cover and browse on leaves, shoots, and fruits.

Nyala Behavior:

Nyala feed on a variety of leaves, twigs, and fruits. They are most active during the early morning and late afternoon, often resting in shaded areas during the hottest part of the day. Nyala are generally solitary or can be found in small groups.

Nyala Reproduction:

Female Nyala give birth to a single calf after a gestation period of around 7 to 8 months. The mother hides the calf in dense vegetation for protection, returning regularly to nurse it. Calves typically remain hidden for several weeks before joining the mother.
