Africa Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest South African Genet Cat any date of the year. The Limpopo Province of South Africa is the premier destination in the World to hunt the Genet Cat. Year round, we offer hunts for awesome Trophy Genet Cat. 
 
This will be a night hunt!  Our hunters typically hunt the South African Genet Cat in conjunction 7 to 10 day African Safari. One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your Genet Cat Hunt, and you will hunt spot and stalk tactics along with safari style with a spot or flashlight. We hunt Genet Cat with small caliber rifle only for the best success 

Civet Cat Permits are limited now, so we will be limited on import permits.  Keep in mind that we will need to apply 15 - 30 days in advance for this Civet Cat permit.  If you are unsuccessful in harvesting your Civet Cat, you will only pay a small permit fee, not the trophy fee.

The Genet is a small to medium-sized carnivorous mammal belonging to the family Viverridae. There are several species of genets, and they are found in Africa, the Middle East, and parts of southern Europe. The common genet (Genetta genetta) is one of the well-known species.

What do Genet Cats look like:

The genet has a slender, cat-like body, a long tail, and a distinctive coat pattern. Its fur is dense and soft with a pale gray color and numerous black markings. It has a small head with a pointed muzzle and large ears and eyes. It also has one whiskers that grow up to 2.8 inches.

Genet Habitat:

Genets are distributed throughout South Africa in a variety of habitats with vegetation. They can be found in woodlands, savannas, and forests. 

Diet of the Genet:

Genets are carnivorous animals that eat small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and occasionally they’ll eat fruits. They are skilled climbers that can be found hunting in trees. 

Genet Cat Behavior:

Genets are primarily nocturnal, and spend most of their days hiding in trees. They are very sneaky hunters and can kill their prey simply with a quick bite on the neck. Genets are solitary animals and mark their territory with their scent. 

Genet Reproduction:

Genet Cat Females will come into the heat during wet the seasons during the gestation period of about 10-11 weeks. The female will then give birth to a litter of one to three kittens.
